Inside Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park in northern Tanzania is one of the country’s most underrated safari destinations, renowned for its ancient baobab trees, seasonal Tarangire River, and some of Africa’s largest elephant herds. During the dry season (June to October), the river becomes a vital water source, drawing vast concentrations of wildlife including lions, giraffes, zebras, and buffalo. Often included in the classic northern Tanzania safari circuit alongside the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire offers a quieter, more exclusive safari experience with exceptional game viewing.
