The World's Largest Intact Volcanic Caldera

The Ngorongoro Crater is an ancient collapsed volcanic caldera — 260 square kilometres of self-contained Eden where an extraordinary density of wildlife lives permanently within its walls. Often called the ‘Eighth Wonder of the World,’ the crater’s sheltered, lush floor supports one of the highest densities of wildlife in Africa, including an estimated 30,000 animals.
